A photograph of Jerónimo Heitor Coelho transformed into a 1000-piece wooden jigsaw puzzle. Photographic Puzzle Nº 01 features the centuries-old holm oak of Monte Barbeiro, in Mértola, in a black and white image marked by the spread of its branches, the contrast and the texture of the landscape.
A picture to reveal piece by piece
The complex structure of the tree turns assembly into an exercise in observation. Each piece reveals a small part of the branches, foliage, shadows and terrain, forcing you to look at the photograph more closely and for longer.
It is a different way of looking at an image: slowly, piece by piece.
